Sea Stoke Opening Night

Rad little film put together by Matt Hannon with additional footage from Rob Henry for the Sea Stoke exhibition “Inspired by the Sea”.  It was an epic night with over 200 people turning up helping to raise $1200 for Surf Aid International…

“Inspired by the Sea – Exhibition & Fundraiser” from Sea Stoke on Vimeo.

Friday the 13th is unlucky for some, but the opening night of the Sea Stoke ‘Inspired by the Sea’ exhibition, delivered the goods, and a ripping evening of art, music, drinks and good times ensued. The mild weather welcomed an estimated 220 guests through the doors of the Boom Gallery in Newtown, Geelong, to come and see the highly anticipated exhibition and launch of the new online publication, Sea Stoke.

A massive $1200 dollars was raised and will be donated to SurfAid international, who are dedicated to helping communities in Indonesia connected to us by the sea.

The punters enjoyed snags and burgers served out of a customized EH bbq that was kindly lent by the EH Holden Car Club of Victoria. Delicious beverages from the Bellbrae Estate winery, Mountain Goat brewery and Brothers Cider wet the palates of the guests who drank merrily to the rockin’ tunes provided by Surf Coast musical outfit, Jimmy and the Mexican (http://www.facebook.com/jimmyandthemexican). With their eclectic fusion of roots, blues and rock, these two lads were a genuine compliment to the Sea Stoke vibe.

Also a big thanks to Matt Hannon & Rob Henry for producing this film of the night.

Still time for a wave

Some exciting things have been happening lately with a few projects underway keeping me far more busy than when I was actually working full time.  Funny that!  All positive though, but I do apologise for the lack of posts lately…  Even amidst these busy times though I think it is important that we don’t forget to do the things we love…
